Woah. Haven’t been here in a while! I told y’all I wasn’t good at sticking to resolutions! Oh well, I have been busy with my last semester of undergrad!
I have been keeping up somewhat with Instagram, so if you do follow my Tumblr, you see that I got a puppy! One reason why I have been very busy. Another is that I have been preparing to move this weekend and on top of that I am going to Denver on Sunday and New York next Wednesday! Whew! I am so so excited too!!
What really is drawing me to post right now, though is something I did on a whim today. I got an email from Groupon about mani/pedis so I clicked on it. (I am not sure why, because I love my nail salon, but maybe it was fate.) While scrolling through the deals in beauty I came across eye lash extensions! I have never thought about them before. Not that I think anything against them, but I have pretty long, thick lashes naturally, and I knew they were expensive, so I did not even think about them. However, I have thought about faux lashes for nights out, just for that extra pop. My sister always wears them and so does Mindy Kaling, so why shouldn’t I try?
Well… I am really clumsy, that’s why! I have slight tremors in my hands that I cannot control - can barely apply eyeliner - and I don’t have the patience to apply them, either. This groupon would cut the original cost in half, so I looked at reviews… They raved… So I called… She got me in early this evening!
I was looking at groupons yesterday morning and now I have even more beautiful, even longer lashes!
I have had them for three hours now, and this is what I have to say about them… I like it so far. It was a very long process. (I laid on my back for about an hour and forty-five minutes.) A couple of my bottom lashes snuck out of the tape holding them down and got stuck to my new ones, but all-in-all, it wasn’t bad. I even fell asleep a couple of times!
I will have to get a small refill in about three weeks so I am going to see how this next month and half goes to really see if I want to keep this up.
My cons? None so far. They look very natural and feel the same. The only thing that I might not like is that I can’t use traditional mascara. I really like mascara. I don’t use a ton, but I am going to try and see how just using eyeliner works, but I am also going to try using my Clinique mascara that I already own on the tips. You are not supposed to use any product with oil and luckily I have sensitive skin, so I already don’t.
I will keep y’all posted on my flutters, but also post a lot about my new puppy, apartment and upcoming trips! There will be a lot to say and a lot of time, so stay tuned!!
